This is an extremely hard to find original John Deere Model R2 two cylinder base mount magneto for an early Model D tractor. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is counter clockwise rotation and turns nice and smoothly with no noticeable bearing wear and the impulse works as it should. It mounts on a 2 inch square mounting pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape! . The leadout tower is in great shape. I haven’t been able to get it to spark so it may just need a good cleaning. It certainly would be a great restoration candidate. These original John Deere magnetos are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for an authentic restoration or for a spare on the shelf here it is!
