The engine is mechanically almost perfect, very strong holding compression and very minimal wear on all the moving parts. Only thing missing is the crankguard. Only flaw with this engine is a small hairline crack in the pulley side flywheel. It was caused by somebody driving the key in too far. The crack is only about an inch and a half in total length and it does NOT travel all the way across the flywheel hub to the back, it traveled up a spoke and stopped. The crankcase side of the hub is not cracked. Flywheel has a minor 1/8-1/4 wobble. The flywheel is not loose on the crank, its nice and tight, I honestly don’t think it needs any attention, should be just fine as it is. The engine runs great, super hot PR Wico magneto. Even the nameplate is original and in great shape. Comes with a good working oiler. There are NO other cracks breaks or welds on this engine, and none on the pump or cart either! I pumped water with it for about 5 minutes the other night and then it puked out a handful of acorn chunks and stopped pumping, it needs a good flushing, squirrels must have got into the pipes, very minor thing I just didn’t take the time to flush the pump out. This engine doesn’t need anything to be show ready, just some gas and oil! It is mounted on a great looking cart probably a 100+ year old industrial cart of some kind, very well, and heavy made. I ran the engine for about 5 hours the other day and it never missed a beat. I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for.
