This is a really nice original Accurate Type R rotary magneto. It was used on the earliest 6hp Type M engines with ignitor ignition. It was also standard equipment on the 1, 1 3/4, and 2 1/2hp Mogul engines. It was also optional equipment on the vertical Famous, and some of the horizontal Famous and Titan engines and some others. It mounts with two holes 2 inches apart on center and the mounting threads are in great shape. It is in great used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has very little wear in the bearings and has the original name band on it. It turns over nice and smoothly with excellent magnetic pull and puts out a hot, fat, blue spark! It needs two washers and a compression spring on the leadout post to be complete. These are available from the hobby suppliers or you could easily make some. With the addition of these it will be ready to be put to use on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare! It’s one of the nicest brass R magnetos I’ve had in quite some time. They usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work but not this one. The pictures tell the story.
