This is a very late model 31 single cylinder Maytag Multi Motor engine, from the last few weeks of production in 1937. It’s serial number is 803,072 is the latest I have ever had in a single, and I have owned several hundred of these over the years, so I’d call this a rare engine. A friend restored this a few years ago and he did a super job, inside and out. He dressed it up nicely with brass hardware all around. It has a reproduction tag attached which came with these engines when they were new. I never put gas in in it. My friend told me it had been test run and then drained.
