This is an extremely hard to find original Bosch FX2 magneto for an old two cylinder gas engine. These were commonly used on the Edwards engines among others. It has a gear on it for an Edwards, I believe, with 28 teeth. The magneto mounts on a 1 7/8 x 3 3/8 inch bolt pattern. It is clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out a nice, hot, blue spark that will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. There is very little wear on the gear. The only real flaws that I’ve noted is a slight amount of the base missing which shouldn’t affect anything as the mounting holes are still in good shape. It also needs a points cover and a name band which I believe are available from several of the hobby suppliers. The leadouts seem to be in great shape. These Bosch 2 cylinder magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets. I’ve only owned 3 of them in 20+ years. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! It would also make a great spare on the shelf.
