This listing is for two engines. I thought someone would like the chance to have both a “regular-sized” Hit and Miss engine and also a 1/3 scale Hit and Miss engine. They are both shown in photos down below this text. Associated Mfg’s Hit and Miss Hired Man 2-1/2 HP engine. 1/3 Scale Hit and Miss replica engine. Model: Hired Man (Water Cooled). Serial: 168205 (I think, will double check). Made in: Waterloo, IA. Condition: Restored, in excellent operating condition! 1/3 scale Hit and Miss engine casting. History of my relation to engines: I was a mechanic for the city roads department for most of my life. I repair with high attention to detail to make it work great, not just put it back together. I applied that same skill and patience to this restoration. I have simply loved engines all my life and in retirement it was one of my bucket list dreams. Hired Man engine : I bought it 3 years ago and spend that winter in my garage restoring it. As you can see in the Youtube video, it looks and works great. I now want to move on to something different. That item is small and easy to set in house for decoration….. Making it a little harder for me to sell. Feel free to ask me questions about things that the video might not be able to show. Price shown in for BOTH engines. Both engines are in my house/garage in the southern Minnesota town of Mankato. It is about 70 miles SW of Minneapolis. If you organize a freighter/semi truck/dock truck, that is surely an option. I can only help, by when the freighter comes to my house, I can push/pull the cart to the driver so he can get it up his ramp onto their flat bed. If they require it on a pallet, we will have to research options. My stepson, who lives in Minneapolis, has experience with freighting, but I rather not have to have him spend a lot of time with logistics if it can be avoided. Associated Mfgs company history. Formed around 1896 as the Iowa Dairy Separator Company, which made a hand operated cream separator. The early company was very successful and grew rapidity, eventually reorganizing in 1910 as Associated Manufacturers Co. Over the years, the company made many different size gas engines.
