This is an original cylinder head with valves for a 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It mounts with four holes on a 4 1/4 square pattern and is correct for the early style ignitor fired 3hp engines with the fuel mixer attached to the side of the head. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a very minor crack (unless it’s a casting flaw) that in the face of it. I don’t think it should be an issue and should be easy enough to remedy with some Loctite wicking sealer if it is. It has the original valves, springs, and keepers as can be seen. The valves move as they should and other than some minor cleaning this head should be ready to be used on an engine. It also has the original water injection on it. The throttle shaft has very little wear and it has the original throttle plate and spring on it. This head couldn’t have been used much as it has a good amount of original paint on it yet as can be seen. The pictures tell the story. These original cylinder heads that are this nice are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf.
