This is a nice original American Bosch MJK 2-cylinder flange mount magneto for an old Caterpillar crawler tractor pony starting engine. It is a model 4/2 180 version so please do your homework to be sure it will work for you. It is in solid condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a crack in the cap which looks like it could work the way it is or likely be repaired. It is a left-hand or counterclockwise magneto as noted by the arrow on the top of the housing. It turns over smoothly with no noticeable bearing wear and has very good magnetic pull. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark on both leadouts that’s almost 1/4 long. I had the cap off and everything inside looks very clean and like new. These American Bosch MJK magnetos especially good, hot ones are getting harder to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for a restoration here’s a very nice one. This is a VERY hard to find original Eisemann CM-4 base mount magneto. It was used on some early Caterpillar tractors and portable engines and possibly had other 4-cylinder applications. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is clockwise rotation and the impulse works as it should. Everything seems to work as it should. It turns over nicely with very little bearing wear. It has good magnetism and puts out a spark on all 4 leadouts. It would likely benefit from a good cleaning and/or a new condenser. Everything inside the top cover looks to be in great shape. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and also on a 2 x 3 1/2 inch pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. These original Eisemann CM-4 magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one. HOLT 75 COLES MODEL CASTING KIT 4 CYL CATERPILLAR ENGINE HIT AND MISS TOY HOBBY. These are NOT steam engine castings. These castings are for a gas engine. There are 2 pages of instruction and notes and a full set of detailed drawings. Included with this kit are extra parts. Some of the parts have been machined and a lot of hours have been invested in machining these parts. Coles does not offer this engine for sale anymore and they are going out of business. 1 set of points. 1 set of carburetor castings. 8 tappets and liners for guides which are machines. 4 plus 1 extra pistons which are machines. 1 complete set of rings. 1 set of gears. 4 cylinder heads which are machined with tapped holes. 4 cylinders which are machined and honed (very nice). Engine block assembly which is 75 % machined with tapped holes. 1 intake manifold casting. 4 new Remco spark plugs. 1 large fly wheel not machined. 1 small fly wheel – not machined. 4 Holt cover side plates. 1 exhaust manifold casting. 8 rocker arm castings. 4 bronze connecting rod castings not machines.
