This is a new old stock fuel tank for a Lauson or Alpha DeLaval hit and miss gas engine. I acquired several of these NOS tanks from a descendant of a fella that worked in the John Lauson sheet metal shop and was told to destroy them after Lauson was bought out. Instead they made their way home with him. I have a few different sizes but limited quantities of each. This one measures about 4 x 7 x 24 inches long. It is painted just the way it was in the factory with the exposed part being red. It would work as a gas tank for any engine you’d prefer to use it on. It has a few very minor dings or small dents from it’s near death experience in the metal dumpster but it is new and has never had fuel in it. It was originally for a duel fuel engine and has a small compartment in the front for starting gas that’s plumbed with the outlet on the opposite end of the tank. It needs one neck soldered on and also a cap. Other than these additions and some minimal cleaning it should be ready to be used on your project. Very nice original 2 1/2hp Lauson Model W with Alpha DeLaval tags on it. It’s sitting on the original skids and has the original cylinder oiler. No cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know other than a solder repair on the gas tank. Mag has hot spark and although I haven’t run it the previous owner said it runs good and I see no reason that it wouldn’t. It has good compression and also the original hinged crank guard. It shows lots of original paint and there’s plenty more to be uncovered under the grease on it. It will make a very nice show engine with minimal effort! Lot of engines and parts for one price. I’ll give it a try to see if there is any interest in the lot. Picked up in North Central WI. Before Christmas unless other arrangements are made. Monitor-Baker with pump jack, turns freely. Wrong Flywheel, wrong gas tank. 2 Cushman Binder Engines, turns freely, one fairly complete with a cracked head nicely welded long ago. The second is just the block , crank and head. Delaval – Lauson turns freely and nearly complete. Fairbanks Morse Engine Block, bore looks good. The smaller engines you get glimpses of in some pictures are in different listings and not included in this one. Pictures are a major part of the description…..
