Here is a nice old bolt on clutch pulley that I think is for a Foos gas Engine. The pulley is stuck. I think it would loosen up easily. In my experience clutch pulleys like this always come apart without to much work. If it were actually mounted on an it would be easier to grab on to and see if it would turn. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. 12″ Diameter, 6-1/4″ wide face. Mounts on every other spoke. The mounting holes are 17 apart on center measured from one to the next closest one. Here is a very neat looking governor that is off of a Foos Type S Wipe Spark hit and miss gas engine. It seems to be in great shape and ready to use on an engine or put on shelf in your man cave! There may be an old gas weld repair to the base in the area of the mounting bolts. It spins nice and freely and doesn’t seem to have any wear. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Two mounting holes about 1-1/4 apart on center. The two mounting pins are about 1′ apart on center. About 7″ tall, the round wood base is about 6-3/4″ in diameter. Spins very easily and has no wear. May have been repaired at its base but it looks really good. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. This is a very hard to find original Sumter B rotary low tension magneto for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. These were used on several high quality engines in the day including Lauson, Alpha DeLaval, IHC, Fairbanks Morse, Otto, Foos, and several others. They were one of the best magnetos built at that time. It is in as found condition and someone has worked on it (or at least had it apart) in the recent past. Most of the fasteners are loose (able to turn). I had it mostly apart and it has some scale on the field pieces which should be easy to clean. It turns over nicely with very minimal rubbing… This would be eliminated with just a bit of cleaning. The bearings have very little wear. The armature looks good. It has some fasteners that have been broken off by a previous owner and could be extracted if you so choose. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the threads look to be usable. This magneto puts out a decent spark but would put out a perfect spark with just a little cleaning and elbow grease. It’s not perfect but it’s a very good start and could be close to perfect with just a little elbow grease! There is a slight chip on the porcelain leadout that doesn’t affect anything and is only cosmetic. These Sumter B’s are incredibly tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. Let the pictures be your guide. You’ll like it.
