Here is a very hard to find original detent for a small Bluffton or Ideal hit and miss engine. I think this is for 10″ and 11″ flywheel size engines. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For your consideration is an original Bluffton or Ideal Lawn Mower Engine Exhaust Rocker Arm. This came off of an engine with 10 inch flywheels. There doesn’t appear to be any cracks breaks or welds, the roller turns, the adjuster for the valve clearance has a dimple in it, I haven’t tried moving it. The pivot pin is included. It’s about 5-3/8 from the center pivot pin to the center of the roller pin. It’s about 6-7/16 from the center of the adjuster bolt to the center pivot pin. It has J83 cast into the top of the arm. Here is a very stout and impressive 9hp Ideal vertical tank cooled hit and miss engine. This may be the largest ignitor fired Ideal still alive from the limited research I’ve done. It is in great shape and was restored many years ago and shown locally. Everything turns and interacts as it should and it has good compression. It has an extremely well done homemade fuel pump on it. The ignitor and trip linkage has some repairs on them but there are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs on it that I can see or know of. It is unique in that it pulls down to trip the ignitor. It has 3 3/8 x 30 flywheels on it and is very impressive when standing near it. It has a belt drive water pump which (I’m not sure) looks to be original and a very nicely done stainless steel screen cooler. The original name tag is missing but you can clearly see where it was. Currently it has a homemade stamped brass tag with the information on it. It is on a homemade drop cart that isn’t the fanciest but surely makes moving it easier! I haven’t tried to run it but I doubt it would take very much to make noise. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, next week, or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can be picked up here and I will help load it.
