For your consideration is a reproduction igniter for a hit & miss engine. I’m told it could be a Jacobson but not for certain. The outside dimensions of the main body are about 2-5/8″ x 3-9/16″ and 5/8 thick. The 3/8″ bolt holes are 2-9/16″ on center. The round area that gossip in the combustion chamber is 1-5/8″ diameter x 1-5/16″ deep. The moveable contact shaft is 7/16. These are all the parts I have with it, I believe it’s missing springs but don’t know if anything else is needed. Here is an reproduction igniter that will fit different sizes of Jacobson side shaft engines. It appears to be built very nice and the action works and feels just as it should. There is no slop or friction. It is very well built but it would also be very easy to polish it up a bit and make it look perfect. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. Mounts to the engine with 2 holes 2-1/2 apart on center. The center that goes in the head is about 1.6145 in diameter. Not too tight, not too loose, feels perfect. This is an extremely hard to find original ignitor for a Jacobson, Bullseye, Ward, or Maynard hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two 1/2 inch holes 2 1/2 inches apart on center. This ignitor should many sizes of Jacobson engines but please measure your engine or consult your parts book to be be sure. Everything moves and functions as it should. There is no noticeable wear on the movable shaft and trip finger and very little wear on the points. I believe it’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. This is an extremely nice original 2hp Jacobson hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It turns over nicely with excellent compression and I’m sure it would start right up. I’ve owned it for several years and showed it a couple years ago. It has the scarce vertical governor and extremely scarce rotary magneto attachment. It is on a period jobber cart and looks and moves great on it. All it really needs is a new owner to have fun with it like I did. I can deliver it for free to Coolspring, PA, later this year or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can also be picked up here. The pictures tell the story. The original engines don’t come along that often and this one has a couple features that you don’t see real often! It would be tough to find a nicer one! Don’t miss it.
