MOTSINGER AUTO SPARKER Hit Miss Gas Engine Friction Drive Magneto Generator

Came from a local estate. Still retains some of its original red paint. Everything turns and is not froze up. The wire that comes off the top has no insulation on it as seen in the last photo. This will have to be fixed. I think it’s complete, but since I don’t know how this thing works I’m going to sell it as not working and for restoration or parts. Check the pictures as they are part of the description. Weight is over 24 pounds.

Here is a nice Motsinger friction generator or magneto. I hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it spun just as it should. Only very minimal bearing wear. The governor may be reproduction but it is nice, it is missing its set screw. The armature cover is reproduction but seems to fit well Please check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. SPECIAL NOTE: This is friction type generator. This mag is meant to be used with a coil. It is not meant to be able to start an engine but is meant to take the place of the batteries once the engine is running. It in itself will not produce a spark that will jump an air gap. Will run on 12 volts. Overall its about 11-1/8″ long, 10-1/2″ wide, and 6-3/8 tall. Weighs about 19 lbs before any box or packing materials. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a great magneto. If you have any questions about how to use it on your engine please ask. Don’t be a clown and tear it all apart and then try to return it when you can’t get it to work. Thanks for looking at this listing! One wire seems to have soldered back on but that will not hurt a thing. Please check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. Magneto or Generator for Hit Miss Engine. Magneto is in good condition and ready to use. Tested – spun up nice when hooked up to a battery. Note: T his mag is intended to be used with a coil and will not produce a spark that will jump an air gap. Mounts with 2 holes on the base that are 4 3/4 apart on center.
