This one starts easy and runs great. This could use a new spark plug wire & carb gasket. This would be a great engine to add to your collection, or start a collection! It’s a solid engine that could be improved with a little love.

Item Name: Full Metal Hit & Miss Gas Engine. Weight: About 2.2kg (Engine + Wooden Base). Size Of Engine: 18012575mm(LWH). Size Of Wooden Base: 1806650mm(LWH). Fuel: ZIPPO Oil or Gasoline. The best tappet clearance: 0.5mm. Revolutions Per minute:1200rmp. Open the bottom of the base to check the wiring of the engine, connect the fuel tank pipe, and install 3 AA batteries. Fill the fuel tank with gasoline(95#). When the filling is completed, make sure there’s no air in the oil pipe. Its role can make the mixed gasoline fully enter the cylinder. Turn on the power switch and turn the flywheel to start the engine counterclockwise on the right side of the engine (installing the flying hammer position). If the ignition device is normal and the cylinder is under normal compression, if the machine still does not start normally, it’s very likely that the carburetor needle should be adjusted. Screw the screw on the top of the carburetor, then loosen 1/4 turn, and start the flywheel. This can be done several times to make the gasoline and air mixing ratio reach the normal working mix ratio. Due to the different displays and different lights, the picture may not reflect the actual color of the item. Thanks for your understanding. Please allow little differences due to manual measurement. Kids should be accompanied by an adult. Kids under 8 are not recommended to play. Please be careful when you add fuel. An O-ring, which is not so airtight and can be started better. Vintage Maytag Engine Model 92 Motor 1929 Single Hit Miss Runs Great! Here is a nice original barn fresh Maytag 92. It does have a replacement spark plug. Don’t let it’s looks fool you, this is a great runner! It starts easy and runs great. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get the carb set right for starting, it will start easy and run nice. I have decided to leave this in it’s “work clothes”. Here is a nice original Maytag 72 Twin Cylinder. This one likes to start with one plug wire removed and grounded. Then after it’s running on one cylinder, reattach the other wire. This is fairly common on these twins. It also slings some gas out around the starter while running, this too is pretty common. It has the Eisemann magneto. Mounted to a custom wood skid. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get it set right for starting, it will sit and run nicely. This one does seem to run slower than the other twins I’ve owned. I’m guessing the previous owner set it to run this way and it can probably be adjusted if you wish. I have decided to leave this engine in it’s “work clothes”, as far as refinishing. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further or run it as it is. Looks like it has some original decals. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby. This would look great at an engine show, or just have it to teach the grandkids about history! Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions! Vintage Maytag Engine Model 72 Motor 19 37 Twin Hit Miss Runs Great! Here is a nice original Maytag 72 Twin Cylinder. I believe this one was made in 1937. T his was the first year for the twin cylinder. This starts easy and runs great. It has the Eisemann magneto. Mounted to a custom wood skid. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get it set right for starting, it will sit and run nicely. This is missing the kickstart spring. It could also use new plug wires and a new tank gasket eventually, but it runs fine as is. I have decided to leave this engine in it’s “work clothes”, as far as refinishing. Vintage Early Maytag Engine Model 92 Motor 1934 Single Hit Miss Runs! Here is a nice original Maytag 92. I believe this one was made in 1934. Looks like someone helicoiled the spark plug thread, so now it just uses a standard automotive type plug. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get the carb set right for starting, it will start and run. The return spring on the kickstart needs to be shortened or replaced because the pedal doesn’t always return up when starting, but this is easily replaced. The ignition plate clamp is broken and missing the screw, so the plate is not tight on the engine. Honestly, this doesn’t seem to affect the running at all. It also needs a carb gasket, but again, it runs fine without it. See all photos for condition. This does have an older restoration and paint job. I have decided to leave this in it’s “work clothes”. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby. Vintage Long Frame Maytag Engine Model 92 Motor 1928 Single Hit Miss Runs! Here is a nice original Maytag 92. One of the best running 92′s that I’ve owned. It does have a new spark plug. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get the carb set right for starting, it will start and run nice. Someone did repair one of the broken mounting lugs, but if you ask me they did a pretty nice job. The flywheel also seems to have been repaired. I’m not sure why or how, but I think it was in the area of the serial number, so I can’t date this one. I have decided to leave this in it’s “work clothes”. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further. It does have an older restoration and I’d say it’s show ready. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby.
