This is an extremely hard to find cast iron fuel mixer or carburetor for a 1 1/2, 2, and 2 1/2hp Simplicity hit and miss gas engine. It is a brand new faithful reproduction and was made with an original as a pattern. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind as it is new. It measures 1 1/8 diameter to slip into the bottom of the head. It mounts to the top of a round gas tank with four holes as can be seen. This mixer is ready to go to work on an engine. These fuel mixers are very often missing or broken on the smaller Simplicity engines so I had some made. They were done by a professional machinist and the quality of his work is clearly evident. These mixers are next to impossible to find so if you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to put on the shelf with the rest of your engine parts here it is. This is a real nice reproduction cast iron crankguard or fender for a 2 1/2hp Simplicity hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind as it is a brand new reproduction casting. It will need the three mounting holes drilled to fit your engine. It mounts on a shelf that is 7 1/8 inches wide overall and the guard is about 14 7/8 inches long overall. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These cast iron crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they’re so often missing so if you need one here’s your chance! The pictures tell the story. Here is a very rare magneto / igniter setup for a Simplicity Gas Engine. This is an early bracket with the highly sought after and rare Podlesak magneto. Or even if you just need a mag, you won’t find them much nicer in barn fresh condition than this. I’ve looked the mag & igniter over and they seem to be in nice original condition. I don’t see anything broken and there are no welds or repairs. The igniter and mag both look nice and greasy & they rotate smoothly. Neither are stuck nor are the worn out. The shafts feel nice and snug. I hooked a meter up to the mag and flipped it with a screwdriver & it moved the needle back and forth. So the coils should be good. It might need a recharge on the magnets, but I think it should work without much more than a good cleanup & lubrication. This is a really nice outfit & I would be very excited to find this if I needed it for my Simplicity engine. 2 7/8 center to center on the mounting holes. It is the same as the Simplicity engines but being marketed in Canada it was call a LaNapoleon. It is in good condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than an old one on the head and ignitor bracket, and the fuel saver. This engine sits on the original skids and looks like it was mounted to two runners to pull in the snow many decades ago. It has some original paint under the repaint. This engine would benefit from an unrestoration or a proper restoration. It has a brass bodied Webster magneto on it. It has a stainless steel gas tank and needs to be plumbed. The flywheels run true. This is a rather large engine for not a large price! It has nice lines to it and would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or display. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, engine shows or swap meets later this year.
