Here is a fairly scarce 6hp Worthington Kerosene engine. It is in good condition considering its age. It turns over as it should and has some compression but has been sitting for many years. I believe that it was painted with very little prep work and the paint comes off pretty easily to reveal some original paint underneath. It has a Webster magneto and ignitor on it and also has the original crankguard which is nearly always missing! Everything moves as it should and the engine seems to have only little to mild wear on it. The bottom of the head has an old repair that could be dressed down a bit. The crankcase has an old braze repair under the crankshaft and also has another crack that requires some attention. There is a rod around it for safety as can be seen. I think this would be a good candidate for a fish plate in the back and some stitching. The other side of the crankcase seems to be in good shape. The hopper has some extra holes in it that could be filled pretty easily as well. The mixer cover is not original but works. The Webster ramp has an addition to it. There are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. I don’t think this engine was ever run after it was “painted”. It could be a very nice engine with just a little elbow grease and this would be a very straightforward project.
