This is a pretty nice original crank guard or splash shield for an old Fairbanks Morse gas engine. I believe it is for the 1 1/2hp Z and also the Dishpan Z engines. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two ears about 7 1/2 inches apart on center but this is a bit arbitrary as the ears can move in or out to accommodate the engine’s bolt pattern. It has some mild pitting which won’t affect anything. These original crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and many of them are missing. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work on an engine or put into your inventory for a spare. The pictures tell the story.
