This is a VERY hard to find original Bosch DU4 Dual 4-cylinder base mount magneto. It has a brass base and turns over nicely. I checked it and did get spark out of it. The Dual magnetos were for applications where the engine started on battery and then switched over to magneto ignition to preserve batteries. It has two sets of points for this reason. This magneto is in pretty good shape but it isn’t perfect as can be seen. It needs a spark tube and should probably be gone through and cleaned at the very least. The threaded end of the armature is broken off as can be seen but this should be and easy repair and might hold a nut the way it is. The magneto is clockwise rotation. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. These original brass based DUAL magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a pretty good one that could be really nice with a little attention.
