This is a very nice original Cutler Hammer dial type rheostat used to control voltage. It measures about 9 1/2 inches in diameter and is in great original condition as can be seen. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. There is only some minor age checking in the knob which won’t affect anything. The knob turns as it should. The core of the unit is marble and copper. It is rated for 300 volts according to the original serial tag. This was a working unit a few years ago on a 110V generator that was run by a hit and miss engine. It worked as it should and I see no reason why it wouldn’t still work. If you need a rheostat for your lighting or electrical display look no further. This one even has the correct period look to it! The pictures tell the story.
