This is a 2.5 Hp, Vertical, 2 cycle, Hit and Miss engine built by Detroit motor Car Supply Co. It is a true Hit and Miss. The governor linkage locks the carburetor check valve shut when the engine is up to speed. Engine was restored many years ago and was last run 3 years ago. Has always been stored indoors. After last running, the gas tank was drained and dried out. Gas tank had previously been coated with sealer. I just checked the coil and it is hot. This engine will run in either direction and can be reversed on the fly. Overall length 36″, width 21″, Height 34.
