This is a pretty decent old 1 1/2hp Hercules hit and miss gas engine. It is in good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a missing choke plate. It appears that restoration was started as seen by the primer but the green paint is original paint. I’m not sure if the original paint is under the primer but I suspect it is. It is quite smooth like the flywheels. The valves have been redone but need to be lapped in. The head gasket and ignitor gaskets are new. The magneto and ignitor have good spark. It turns over as it should and there is very little wear on the gearing. It needs the rod bearing taken up but there are shims to remove. The original crank guard is on it. It will need a gas tank and a muffler as can be seen but these are available rather inexpensively as reproductions. With just a little effort this will be a really nice engine. It basically needs a going through. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year.
