This is an original and estate fresh early Economy 2 1/2hp Model E hit and miss gas engine. It is in decent condition for its age but does have some battle scars as can be seen. The head has some old repairs and will need attention. The engine turns over as it should and almost everything interacts as it should. Everything is free on the engine except the valves. They move but are very stiff and will need to be removed for attention. The mixer has an extra hole in the back of it that will likely need to be filled. The engine is missing the Webster magneto and the ignitor bracket has been drilled for a spark plug. There is a slight crack on the side of the water jacket that I’ve pointed out and may need attention but probably won’t leak. The original gas tank looks quite solid. It has some original red paint in places as can be seen. In general this engine just needs a good going through and should be a pretty straightforward project! It’s a good chance to get into a true hit and miss engine at ground level. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year.
