This is an extremely hard to find Sumter Model B rotary magneto for an old hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. These were commonly used on John Lauson engines from the factory as well as options on IHC Famous and Titans and some of the earlier Fairbanks Morse and Foos engines. It is fresh from an old collectors estate and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for slight chip/crack in the porcelain leadout and two cracked magnets which have little or no affect on its performance. It mounts on a 2 inch square hole pattern and the mounting threads in the brass base are in excellent shape. It has almost no noticeable wear on the armature bearings. I charged the magnets and it has excellent magnetic pull and great snapping spark! I believe this magneto is ready to go to work on an engine!
