Vintage Maytag Engine Model 72 Motor 1946 Twin Hit Miss Runs Great! Here is a nice original Maytag 72 Twin Cylinder. I believe this one was made in 1946. This starts easy and runs great. It has the Eisemann magneto. Mounted to a custom wood skid. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get it set right for starting, it will sit and run nicely. This is missing the air cap, but the “farmer fix” from years ago actually seems to work fine. It also has a large dent in the flywheel, but this doesn’t affect it running much. It is also missing a couple bolts on one cylinder, looks like one is broken off. I have decided to leave this engine in it’s “work clothes”, as far as refinishing. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further or run it as it is. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby.
