This is an original cylinder head with valves for a 2 1/2 and 3hp Hercules EK throttle-governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is about 6 3/4″ in diameter and mount with holes about 3 1/8 to 3 3/16″ apart on center. It has the original valves, springs, and keepers as can be seen and everything moves as it should. It seems to have very little wear and even has some original paint on it yet. This head should be ready to be used on an engine. The pictures tell the story. These original unbroken, unrepaired cylinder heads are exceedingly tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. For your consideration is an original HEAD with VALVES for 2-1/2hp & 3-1/2hp HERCULES or ECONOMY throttle governed engine. It has a 1″ diameter intake port which someone started to thread but isn’t threaded by much and 1-1/4″ NPT exhaust port which has good threads. The rocker arm stands & the pushrod guide have not been repaired as can be seen in the pics. The head is in good shape, but it is missing the bolt and keeper for the valves. The valves will likely need new stems but the seats seem fine. The mounting bolts are about 3-1/4 apart on centers. About 6-3/4 diameter outside head circle. Here is a very nice and hard to find large fuel filler spout that is correct for a few different sizes of Hercules or Economy hit and miss engines. This one has an original 1/4 pipe hole in the side. I have never seen that feature on one of these before. It could be plugged with a 1/4 pipe plug or could be used as a fuel return on a throttle governed engine.
