This is a VERY hard to find original Dixie 462-C 2-cylinder base mount magneto. It was used on the Eagle tractors and portable engines and probably had other 2-cylinder applications. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is clockwise rotation and the impulse works as it should but could use a new compression spring which should be easy. I believe the rotation can be changed to CCW without too much trouble. Everything seems to work as it should. It turns over nicely with very little bearing wear. It has good magnetism and puts out a nice blue spark on both leadouts. Everything inside the points cover looks to be in great shape. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. These original Dixie 462-C magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one. I was told that this piece came off of an old engine used at a mine in Nevada. As most of us know, polishing the brass drastically reduces the value of the piece. You can rest assured that this piece is as original as it gets, no polishing. As a BONUS, the cork gaskets have been replaced with new old stock gaskets. You will not find another NO 8 in this good of condition for its age, and in this original of condition. There are some signs of use with very mild scuff here and there. 3 very old copper cans with Lunkenheimer stamped on the lever of each one. They are marked Heavy Oil, 30 Machine Oil, and Cutting Oil. They all look nicely hand made. The lids lay on the top of each and can be easily removed. Really unusual and great for the shop or hit and miss engine collection. Check out the photos for condition. Each one measures approximately 5 3/8″ X 5 1/4″. They stand about 10 5/16high. Original Peru Plow Company large jobber engine truck as used under Waterloo and several other gas engines originally. 6 channel iron rails are 15 3/4 inches wide and 96 inches long which is easily adjusted. The wheels are 27 and 34 inches in diameter with 4 inch faces. It has a recent weld repair on the pivot plate which was very well done and difficult to see. No other cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. The axles are greased and it’s ready to set an engine on! It has a very nicely done oak tongue and has the original seat brackets inside the channels as can be seen. These larger engine trucks are tough to find and make your engine a lot easier to move! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. Here is a nice 1/2 pint Powell Boson gas engine cylinder oiler. It’s pretty good but has a couple minor flaws. The check ball insert is broken and half gone, it will work fine without it or it would be very easy to reproduce. The flipper is held on with a wire instead of a pin or rivet. The wooden handles may be a little newer. This is a still a great rare oiler. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. Thanks for looking at this listing!
