This is an extremely nice original John Deere Type E low tension magneto for a 1 1/2, 3, or 6hp John Deere hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns over nice and smoothly and has excellent blue spark that will certainly run your engine if it is set up properly. The threads in the mounting holes are in great shape. It has a gear on it for a 1 1/2hp engine but this could easily be swapped out for the correct gear for a 3hp or 6hp engine. These original John Deere magnetos are getting tougher to find every day so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf.
