Nice old Apple Dynamo in working condition. Length with shaft 9″ and 5″ in diameter and weighs over 21 pounds. Completely apart and new wires attached at the fields with new brushes fitted, makes electricity counter clockwise rotation from the shaft end. The shaft size is 1/2″ and the mounting holes are 4 1/8 x 2″ on centers. Rotated with electric drill and makes over 10 volts. Two small things i must mention a small nail for the lid hinge and a small amount of play on the brass out put shaft which does not affect the function. I do not know what the Dynamo was made for but probably was used in several applications years ago. I would think it would date to the 20/30′s. Here is a very nice Apple Igniter Dynamo made by the Dayton Electric Co. It is a very nice unit. It originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine flywheel and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Serial No 50540 (It is painted inside the front cover, that is original). About 10-3/4″ long, 5-3/4″ wide, 5-3/4 tall. No bearing wear can be felt. I hooked up to a 12 volt battery and it spun right away just like it should. This is a heavy item, it weighs 22 lbs before any box and packing material. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Please don’t act like a cave man and send me emails grunting “my friend mag guy says need rebuilt you pay he bill” or “I took apart now now it no work I send back”. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back.
