This is a real nice old Edwards #5 alligator metal shear. It is fresh from an old collectors estate and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. Everything moves and interacts as it should. There are a couple nicks on the shear bars but it should work the way it is or these could easily be replaced. These shears are a great addition to your blacksmith shop setup or display and they really speed up material gathering in working shops! I can deliver them for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, engine shows later this year. They can also be picked up here. The pictures tell the story. This is an extremely hard to find original Bosch FX2 magneto for an old two cylinder gas engine. These were commonly used on the Edwards engines among others. It has a gear on it for an Edwards, I believe, with 28 teeth. The magneto mounts on a 1 7/8 x 3 3/8 inch bolt pattern. It is clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out a nice, hot, blue spark that will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. There is very little wear on the gear. The only real flaws that I’ve noted is a slight amount of the base missing which shouldn’t affect anything as the mounting holes are still in good shape. It also needs a points cover and a name band which I believe are available from several of the hobby suppliers. The leadouts seem to be in great shape. These Bosch 2 cylinder magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets. I’ve only owned 3 of them in 20+ years. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! It would also make a great spare on the shelf. A real nice 3-6HP Edwards engine , was restored years ago has little running time. Still has nice paint , good compression all original gas tank, oilers mufflers (I added the extensions to the mufflers) there are no breaks, welds or defects on this engine. We broker more high end cars than anything but occasionally we run into things so cool we have to pass them on to the public. We do not know anything about working conditions of these motors but will be glad to help answer any questions you might have. There is one smaller one that I believe to be air cooled -it turns and seems to build compression. The Edwards is in really good condition and is I believe one of the rarest being made only two years. The Fairbanks morse we almost got cranked, it again builds compression and has crank with it. These came from a dry storage that hasn’t been accessed for decades. I will be listing more old farm implements as we bought the entire estate, I just thought these were a good place to start. I can work with a shipper you might arrange but will not handle logistics on my end.
