A neat ole engine I picked up at local estate sale. The gentlemen use to work on and rebuild engines. This one is super nice in my opinion…. It has very good compression by pushing on the kickstart. It had some old gas in it, so I dump it out. The tank needs to be flushed out more than likely. I poured a little gas in the carb and got it to run for a few seconds, it sounded great.. Just maybe a little fresh gas and this one will be a runner?? I sell mostly used or vintage items. I’m not expert on many things and cannot describe every detail, so look closely at pictures. Torch was quality-made of thick cast iron by the Illinois Foundry of Springfield IL. These were used by Highway Departments/Railroads/Hit & Miss Stationary Engines/Orchards/Oilfields/Garages/Airports/etc. It was found in an ancient Ford Garage many years ago. One of the rarest and most desirable Road Flares as the Illinois Foundry was only in business for a short time in the 1890′s to early 1900′s. About 8-1/2″ tall x 6-1/2″ O. CONDITION : Very good used with minor wear/marks/light rusting/etc. Will need a new (round) Wick. Please closely examine our photos for additional details.
