There are not many early, vertical ignitor Jumbo’s floating around, that’s for sure! The engine is totally complete, including the muffler, pulley, and I have a reproduction crankguard that goes with it as well. The engine has very nice compression and the Webster mag is nice and HOT. You can see some really early characteristics on this engine that were soon changed on later Jumbo engines, like the pushrod holder is just a cavity in the rocker arm itself, working with the double spring on the exhaust valve, to hold the pushrod in place. Speed changer works great, this engine will run at rated working speed, or just idle for play by changing the lever back or forth. This engine has no grease cups on the mains, it has oil troughs, another early feature. It also has a dry head. Skids are original to the engine, and in good shape. Nice ball check oiler. The only non correct thing on the engine is the gas tank which is from a Briggs engine, but it works great. Nice original green paint all over the engine, and plenty of grease too. Starting crank is built in the flywheel. This engine needs NOTHING except a new home, gas, oil, and a show to take it to. Nice unpainted original engines like this are few and far between.
