Up for your consideration is this. ANTIQUE 1935, 1 1/2 HP JOHN DEERE HIT AND MISS ENGINE, SERIAL NO. This engine comes complete with a 4 3/4″ X 4 7/8″ face pulley and the optional crankcase breather (see photos). This little 1 1/2 hp engine runs great and starts so easily every time that I have had it running. I put solid oak runners under it on the truck for stability and durability. This engine was last used and belted up to a one-hole “Hand” corn sheller and shelled over 650 lbs of popcorn! It had been over two (2) years since I last started this highly dependable John Deere horse & a half. I always use the Sta-bil ™ gas additive before I anticipate an extended idle time with an engine. Well, it certainly paid off today! All I did for start-up was close the choke, open the needle valve one turn and cranked the flywheel as fast as I could and in less than five “5″ flywheel revolutions she fired right up, I then opened the choke and closed the needle valve to 3/4 open and let her run for several minutes. Of the few hit and miss engines that I have had the privilege of owning in the past 10 years this little JD is by far the easiest and most reliable engine to start. I would attach a video showing it running, but I have NO idea how to accomplish that!! Available for local pick-up only in N. Get Images that Make Supersized Seem Small.
