I will be listing the hit and miss engine collection that belonged to my late father. My mother has asked that I sell these for her. Please check my other auctions for the entire collection. This is a Hercules/Economy or Sears 7 HP engine with saw and cart. It hasn’t run in years but has always been stored inside and out of the weather. The tongue for the cart is laying on the back. The engine is not stuck but the carb is laying in the water jacket. I do not think this was the original carb, but dad had it running and cutting wood years ago outfitted like this. What you see in the pictures is what you get. This engine has been in the family for years and I grew up hearing stories about how they used to cut wood, and boil eggs in the water jacket for lunch. I should mention this engine is very heavy and you will have to have a trailer to haul this. I honestly don’t know much about these old engines other than what they are. These were a hobby of my father’s and with him some of the knowledge of them is gone. Please understand these are two hours from where I live at the farm so answering specific questions will be difficult but I will try and get mom to check into something if you need something answered. Please understand I don’t know a lot about these engines and I have tried to be as honest as I can to their condition etc. If you come to pick it up and it’s not what I said it was then I’ll gladly just relist the engine. Thanks for looking, and please check out my other auctions for more antiques. The item “Sears Economy Hercules 7 HP Hit and Miss Antique Engine with Saw” is in sale since Tuesday, March 08, 2016.
