(you can run it on gasoline as well) These 1hp Titan JR engines are incredibly hard to find, and when you do they are usually worn out or in bad shape. This one is neither of those things. The only flaw with this engine is a weld on the head. They did a very nice job welding it, good quality weld, and I’m a welder so I know what I’m looking at. Somebody also added a piece of steel to the top of the trip rod, I think just for extra weight, it would be very easy to take that top piece off, the rest of the trip is totally correct and how its supposed to be. Ignitor works great, very little wear in the shaft. This a much harder to find Titan JR compared to others due to the duel fuel (Gasoline/Kerosene) carburetor. I think they realized it was a bad idea to have such a small hit & miss engine running on Kerosene so that carburetor was short lived. The carb is in great shape, no issues. The original, two compartment gas tank is in really nice shape, NO leaks! Has both of the original filler caps on the tank yet. Comes with the good working, early style oiler that is on it. Other than the old 1970′s paint job that is flaking off, this engine is very unmolested, and unworn. Compression is very good, fires nice and strong and coasts well. This engine has zero knocks, clunks, or bad noises when it runs, the only noise you hear is when it fires and the small cam noise every revolution like all hit & miss engines make. No wrist pin hammering, piston slop, gear noise or any of those bad things. I can’t find any welds on this engine other than the head, which if you dressed that down, you would never even know it was welded. Only thing this engine is missing, is a muffler and crank shield. The magneto on these I believe was optional, this one is a battery and coil engine. If it wasn’t for the minor issue with the weld on the head, this engine would be about as good as you could hope for, out of a Titan JR. This one is very hard not to keep for my own collection, this engine will make a great rare addition to somebody’s collection. Feel free to ask questions.
