Here is a nice Associated high bar low tension magneto. This mag is in great shape and ready to use but it is not absolutely perfect. One of the mounting holes has a couple hairline cracks. That is an extremely common thing with these mags and it shouldn’t hurt anything. The threads in the mounting holes are not completely perfect but they are pretty good and all accept bolts just fine. This mag is very hot and only has a minimal amount of wear. I would expect it to be able to start and run an engine for many years to come. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! I tested this mag by visually assessing the spark it produced while rubbing a bare wire against the body of the mag while turning the shaft with the springs off. Aluminum or white metal frame. The bearings seem very nice with only minimal wear. 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ mounting pattern, the threads in these holes are not perfect but they will work fine. A couple hairline cracks near a mounting hole, see picture. Gear is about 2-11/16 in diameter and it has 25 teeth. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Please don’t act like a cave man and send me emails grunting “my friend mag guy says need rebuilt you pay he bill” or “I took apart now no fire I send back”. Most items will go out faster though. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back.
