This is an original cast iron cylinder head with valves for an Alamo, Rock Island, Empire, Cockshutt, or other Alamo-built hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. The head has a part number of 5948. The head is about 7 inches in diameter and mounts with 4 holes on a 4 1/4 inch square bolt pattern. I would say this is for about a 4-5 hp engines. If you know what size it fits please educate me. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The valves are both in it and look like they are usable but the intake valve is bent a bit and will need some attention. They both move but are a bit stiff. There appears to be very little wear on the faces of the valves or in the guides. The setscrew for the mixer moves as it should. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. The pictures tell the story. It would surely beat making one! The item “Old ROCK ISLAND EMPIRE ALAMO Hit Miss Gas Engine HEAD Magneto Ignitor Oiler WOW” is in sale since Friday, April 14, 2017.
