The engine is mounted on a nice set of Fairbanks gas engine trucks, which I believe this engine has been on it most, if not all of it’s life. The engine has good compression, and starts right up every single time on the first crank after choke. The magneto on this engine is super hot, you don’t need to spin the engine super fast to get it going like most JD engines. The ONLY weld is on the bottom of the water jacket, right where most every JD engine is welded. The weld is a nice job and doesn’t leak, the water leaking you see in the video is coming from the worn out drain fitting. Both flywheels run perfectly true. It has the original flat belt pulley, the muffler however isn’t original but works just fine. Speed adjuster works just as it should, and so does the governor, this engine is ready to work, or play. If your looking for an engine in it’s work clothes that’s easy starting and will run all day, this is it. The engine is perfectly in time, runs smooth, coasts good, and is ready to hit the shows this summer and fall! Please see pictures and video, and decide for yourself.
