From the Glenn Karch estate, this is a 4 hp type 6C engine. Three hopper-cooled engines were introduced. They included the 1 HP Type 6A, the 2 HP Type 6B and the 4 HP Type 6C. Except for size, the engines were identical in appearance and their mechanisms very similar to the pumping unit engines. Glenn had this engine nearly done except for grinding the exhaust seat. New valves, rings, paint, gas tank, fabricated cart as seen in pictures. I ordered 2 1/2″ stone for my seat grinder today and a 1/2″ pilot so I should have that done by the time you pick it up. This is a rare engine that has been gone through except for that exhaust seat, the valves and stems are new and the intake cage appears to have had its seat ground already. As you probably know, the 2 1/2 valve is pretty big, and Glenn probably didn’t have a stone for the seat on hand. The cage itself may be reproduction, I’m not sure. No cracks, breaks welds and all that stuff. I don’t have a tongue for the cart. The item “4 HP Kewanee hit miss gas engine nice not running but almost” is in sale since Monday, September 21, 2015.
