These engines were used to pump water from shallow wells, to storage tanks for home, farm or business. This engine was found in a Michigan barn in 1967 or 68 by another collector (who I got it from), and he NEVER ran it once, so theres a good chance this engine hadn’t run since the 1950′s. All I have done is trip the old paint job off, and run some new gas lines, and clean out the fuel pump. There are two welds on the engine, one is on the pump itself, and one is on the water jacket of the engine (see pictures). The only other minor issue, is a small chip out of the muffler, which isn’t original, but works fine. Engine has good compression, and everything works as it should. I have never attempted to pump water with it, but I’m sure it doesn’t need much if anything to start pumping water. These Kewanee engines are few and far between, and they are quite early I would guess just before 1910. Lots of monkey motion on this engine, that is really nice to watch! There is no gear growling on any of the gears, or bad noises of any kind, with the exception of a little wrist pin clunk which most engines have. Has the original cast brass nameplate which a lot of these engines are missing. This engine needs nothing but a new home, and some shows to display it at. If you’re looking to upgrade your collection with a desirable engine, here is your chance. Feel free to ask questions. VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING. 10 DAY LISTING – NO RESERVE!!!
