There are no cracks, breaks or welds that we can see. EK mag is good and the hot, valves may need lapped. You are getting the cart and the engine complete with the hand crank (hand crank has a chunk out of it). When we looked up the serial number it showed this to be 1924. Make your life a little easier, get that engine on wheels and quit dragging it around. Here is a set of cast iron parts that will take a lot of the work and all of the welding out of making a wheelbarrow style cart for your engine. Included are one pair of bolsters with axle mounting hardware, two 8″x2″ five spoke wheels and two handle/support legs. Bolsters are 3 tall and will allow you to make a nice heavy duty cart for engines up to 275 pounds. The only parts needed to complete the cart are common 3/4 pipe for the axle, engine mounting rails, nuts and bolts. Cast iron will give an antique look many prefer over fabricated strap steel and help your engine really stand out at the next show. Photos of assembled carts are for reference purposes to show possibilities of finished carts, engine and other parts not included. This 8hp Ohio gas engine was made around 1906 & originally used near a dock at the old fish hatchery at Deer Park near Sandusky, Ohio to pump water for the hatchery. The engine was restored & painted red in the late 1970s/early 1980s & has been bored & sleeved. It has a great cylinder which can be seen by the way it bounces back & forth against compression towards the end of the video below. The engine looks oily & greasy in the pictures because it has been sitting for years oiled & protected in a nice concrete floor building. There is no weld on the engine but there was a small tin patch on the bottom of the engine at one time. This was taken off when it was restored years ago. The backside flywheel has 1/8 wobble when looking at its outer diameter but the flywheel on the working side of the engine looks fine. Other than that the engine looks good & is in good shape mechanically. This engine has the original little belt pulley on the working side of the engines crankshaft that is rarely seen. This was an option by the Ohio Motor Company & a small air or water circulating pump was originally belted off of it. This engine can be viewed at the address below. Ed & Nick Rowland. Deliver it to Portland, IN in August or Coolspring, PA in October. =Also there is a large collection of antique hit & miss engines, vintage steam engines, antique hot air Stirling-type engines, patent models, experimental & prototype. From the 1820s to the 1930s on display here. Over 300 engines with 38 being sideshafts. Almost all have been rebuilt, restored & setup to view & run. See Last Picture in Gallery Above.
