Found today in the barn tucked away in a dark corner! Brass body has good mounting threads 2 3/4″ across threads, 7 1/4″ tall, Looks to be very good shape. Spun it by hand but saw no spark. Should make spark when cleaned, oiled and spun at correct speed. Nice magneto, complete no cracks, breaks, welds. I took the magneto off and stored in a climate control building. Engine has not run for 10 years, no cracks or breaks. Was repainted several years ago. Associated or United magneto for hit miss engine. Mag is in good condition and ready to use. Leaving the mag with original patina, new owner can shine up if desired. Mag fits all the Associated engines that have the 4 bolt mag bracket. Pot metal mag that is very solid to use and not cracking. Threads are all in good shape. Come with the original bolts. Lights up a 12 volts test light by hand nice. I recharged the magnets to make sure it was at full strength. 2 3/4′ X 2 3/4 mounting spacing. Guaranteed to be a HOT mag. I also have some 4 bolt mag brackets available too, just ask. If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. Like I said I have done this a long time and try to list everything accurately to explain all the good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back. Original Brass base 4 bolt magneto for a 1 3/4 to 2 1/4hp ASSOCIATED or UNITED engine. Magneto turns over fine and you can feel good magnetism. Threaded mounting holes in the bottom are perfect. Has the drive gear which will work on the 1 3/4hp to 2 1/4hp. No cracks, breaks, or welds. Some pitting on the magnets and gear. Gear teeth are good and not wore sharp at all. I attached a 12 volt test light to the mag and it would light the bulb with a quick spin by hand. This mag along with the other parts I have listed were from someones engine restoration project that was disassembled and never got finished. I will try and post many pictures so you can get a good look at it. Check out my other items. This is an Iowa Oversize Associated Amanco hit and miss gas engine made in 1922 in Waterloo, Iowa. This is a stunning original paint engine which still bares original 93 year old pin striping and decal, and is just the patina that we all are looking for. I have run it periodically and ran very good with good compression. It sits on a nice set of trucks. The steering axle is Electric Wheel design which could be original to an Associated, and the fixed axle and wheels are original 6 HP John Deere. I can hold on to it and work with you until you can make connections to get your engine. Glad to answer any questions. This is a real nice original engine cart or truck that was used under several companies engines including Associated, Hercules, Economy, and many others. It would work great under most any engine from about 1-3 horsepower. It is in excellent condition as can be seen and rolls very nicely. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of except one wheel has two cracked spokes right by the hub. This won’t affect it’s performance at all but I wanted to point it out. The original handle is in near perfect shape as well. This cart has a great amout of original red paint on it and there’s much more to be found after a little more cleaning. It would look great under an original engine! The 1 3/4 inch angle iron rails are 10 1/4 inches apart at the outsides and 33 inches long. They could easily be altered in width to accommodate your engine. The wheels are 8 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 inch face and the axles are about 24 inches long. I can deliver this cart for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year or next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. The pictures tell the story. It’s one of the nicest originals I’ve ever seen and it will certainly make moving your engine easier!
