This is a real nice old 12 inch cast iron clutch pulley for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a 6 1/8 inch face and is 12 inches in diameter. It mounts to the crankshaft with a 2 inch bore. It could be bored at least to 2 1/4 and also could be bushed down. Everything works as it should and there is seemingly little wear. The wood blocks are in great shape. It has some ugly green paint on it that could be stripped off pretty easily. These original clutch pulleys are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! They also make it possible to run belt driven implements with your engine. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work on an engine or put into your inventory for a spare. The pictures tell the story. This is a real nice old cast iron pressure dome for a hot air engine or water pump of some sort. I think it is for a Rider Ericsson hot air engine as it came from an estate where one lived. It measures about 11 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter at its largest. The threads are about 2 5/16 inches in diameter. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of and I think it is ready to be used on an engine or other project. The pictures tell the story. These original pressure domes don’t turn up very often and they would be quite an undertaking to reproduce them so if you need one don’t miss your chance on it! This is a real nice old headlight for a railroad locomotive. It is very unusual in that it is mostly cast iron construction. The housing and bonnet are all cast iron and the mounting framework is steel. It has a great look to it and is in excellent condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the pivot pin in the hinge for the lens and the nut that holds it closed. It is also missing a small portion of one of the side lens retainers but this would be an easy repair and doesn’t affect anything the way it is. This light is quite large measuring about 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 18 inches tall. As you can see I wired a temporary cord onto it. It lights up just as it should. The wires coming out of the housing are old and hard and should probably be replaced but it does work the way it is. The temporary cord I will keep for my next project. It has had the original glass locomotive number panels that go in the side frames replaced with masonite panels. It is extremely bright and really lights up the neighborhood at night! It has “GN” casting numbers and I don’t know which railroad it originally came from. If you do please educate me. I do know that lights like this are. Extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. This is a real nice original cast iron pulley for a hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine or other piece of mahinery. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a 4 1/4 inch face and is 6 inches in diameter. It has a 1 1/2 inch bore and keyway to fit on the crankshaft of the engine or the driveshaft of the implement. The setscrew to tighten it down is stuck but I’m sure with some heat it would free up pretty easily. It has six spokes and has a great look to it. These original cast iron pulleys are next to impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they really set an engine off! They also make it possible to run belt driven implements with your engine. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. This is a very nice original and very hard find old horizontal toy steam engine. I’m not sure of the maker but if you know please educate me! It certainly is very old. It is fresh from an early engine and mechanical toy collectors estate where it lived for decades. It seems to be in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see other than the nipple inlet for the steam or air line. It should be a very easy repair and really isn’t noticed. It turns over nicely and everything seems to move as it should. It has a good amount of original paint and plating on it as can be seen. The flywheel is about 4 inches in diameter and has a belt groove in it to run a dynamo or generator. The toy overall measures about 4 x 9 x 4 5/8 inches tall. It has a separate belt pulley on the crankshaft and has some cute little oil cups on the bearings! It is a very unique design that I’ve not seen before. It would be a great addition to your early mechanical toy collection or steam engine collection or display. This is a mostly complete Hit and Miss model engine built from a Ted Young kit, I believe. You can see “The Young” on the side of the base casting. I know next to nothing about this hobby or this model, so please carefully examine the photos and ask questions, if you have any. I will do my best to answer them. The research I did is summarized below. This engine kit was advertised in Model Tec magazine by a Ted Young. There is a building series of articles in the Model Tec magazine back several years ago. It is hit & miss design with spark plug ignition. It is hopper cooled with two flywheels. It has a 1-1/4″ bore x 1-7/8″ stroke. It is a free lance design. Not of any particular known engine. The flywheels are about 6 in diameter. It is about 7.5″ high and about 12″ long. Also, there is no evidence that it has been run and there are pieces missing. From my research, it would, at a minimum, need a magneto, wiring, and an oiler. In my opinion, it was skillfully crafted from the kit. The work does not appear shoddy, but I accept no responsibility for its condition, missing pieces, etc. What is in the photos is what you will get.
