This is a real nice original belt driven generator that would be a great display running with your hit and miss gas engine! I believe it was made by Fairbanks Morse and is 32V DC but I have no way to tell other than it was with a Fairbanks Morse engine that matched it at the sale where I bought it. If you can educate me please do! The 3 wires have the original aluminum wrap labels on them but I don’t know what they mean. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns over nicely with no noticeable bearing wear. The brushes and all of the internals look to be in good shape and there is very little noticeable wear on the armature. I believe it is ready to be used again. It measures about 11 inches in diameter so it is a nice, manageable size. It has a v-belt pulley on it but this could easily be removed to put on a flat belt pulley. I can deliver this for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is an original Fairbanks Morse Type R high tension magneto for an old engine. It was factory equipment on many of the Model Z engines that were spark plug fired. The bearings have almost no noticeable wear and it turns over very smoothly with good magnetic pull. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It puts out a good, hot, blue spark that will surely run an engine if it is set up properly with the addition of the correct gear for your application. It mounts with two holes 3 7/8 inches apart on center. These original Fairbanks Morse R magnetos are getting tougher to find every day so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. For sale is a Fairbanks and Morse 3 hp gas engine. This is a throttle governed engine. I primed it and it fired a couple pops but the mag seems a little weak. I only spent about 10 minutes messing with it. The wheels on the cart are wider on the back so I’m not sure it is a matched set. There is no gas tank. I got this in a trade 25 years ago and have never messed with it. Please look at the pics and ask any questions. 3hp Fairbanks Morse ZC throttle governed engine with generator flywheel. Turns over nice with some compression even after sitting for many years. Has a good amount of original paint underneath the industrial gray repaint. The engine has a repair on the water jacket which could likely be ground down successfully and also an old repair on the rocker arm which is hard to notice. It also needs the fuel needle head reattached to the stem. It has the original RV1 magneto on it and should be a pretty straightforward project. These engines are real workhorses for running implements! Will make a great engine with just a little attention! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this month. It will need valves, a gas tank, and a governor weight pin for sure. It has very little wear and no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a minor chip on a cam gear tooth and another one on the intake valve guide which shouldn’t really affect anything. It has some rust holes in the pulley and a few more in one skid as can be seen. The skids are still very solid. It should be a pretty straightforward project.
