Used Galloway hit n miss engine for sale. Engine has great compression but not so nice spark on the magneto Yes No Spark. Engine does not start or run. With a meter set on owm’s I get. 007 from wire to wire on the coils of the magneto. Has had a repair on a gear mount and gear works fine. The movable electrode has a little slop but not its not very bad and shouldn’t need to be fixed. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. No cracks, breaks, or welds, that I can see or know of. About 3-5/8 in outside diameter. Mounts to the engine with two holes 2-3/8″ apart on center, the bolt holes are 5/8″. Some wear but I think it is ready to use. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. This complete unit consists of a 1910 Galloway 7 1/2 H. Hit and Miss Engine which belt drives an 1867 Queen of the South Grist all mounted on a22 foot tandem trailer. There is also storage underneath the trailer for its canopy and polls. This unit has been used at many outdoor events to grind corn into corn meal for corn bread. It is then packaged and given away along with recipe for the corn bread. There is also a 12 H. Auxiliary engine which can drive the belt and grist mill when not wanting to use the hit and miss engine. This unit has always attracted much attention. This is a rather hard to find and pretty decent original factory cart made by Galloway for under their smaller engines. It is about the right size for a 1 1/2 to 3hp engine depending on size. It is in decent condition for its age. There are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs on it that I can see or know of except for two chips in the rear wheel hubs which is quite common on these carts. This won’t affect anything and isn’t real easy to notice unless you are looking. The cast iron wheels are 7 1/2 and 10 inches in diameter with 1 1/2 inch faces. The upper bolster is about 9 7/8 inches long overall and a faithful reproduction in cast iron from Cattail Foundry. The cart will need two angle irons of the correct length for your application to put your engine on it but this should be a pretty straightforward procedure. The axles are about 22 1/2 inches long. There are traces of original red paint in several spots and it would look great under a nice original engine. All of the wheels move as they should and it would certainly make moving your engine easier! I can deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. The pictures tell the story. It will likely be quite a while before another one turns up so don’t miss it.
