This is a VERY hard to find original Gardner 1/2 inch vertical governor for a steam engine or tractor or gas engine. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It turns smoothly with very little wear on the gear teeth and only mild wear on the pulley shaft. Everything moves as it should and I believe it would be ready to go to work on an engine. The pipe threads are in good shape. It stands about 12 inches tall overall. These original smaller size governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one.
