The engine is in very nice shape mechanically, compression is very good and overall wear is really low. This is a HEAVY built engine, weighs far more than a normal 2hp engine. The flywheels have the name cast into them. The only two issues with it, is a small chip out of the piston, and a small weld on the side of the head, neither of these things affects the engines operation at all. The engine fires strong and coasts nice too. It will run slower that it’s running in the video. The engine is totally complete including the original muffler and belt pulley. Comes with a nice early Lunkenheimer oiler (needs new glass). Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself, this engine is ready to hit the shows next summer! Hard to find, early well built engine to add to your collection. You can also pick the engine up here we are 100 miles north of Detroit. Can store it free for 6 months. Feel free to ask questions! So sell along with their water pumps. The compression is really good, there are NO issues with this engine at all. Flywheels run perfectly true and are both in great shape. The engine has the original name plate on it yet. It is mounted on a very nice set of skids, and is complete with a battery box and buzz coil. The engine is very unworn, and in great shape, most Duro’s either have flywheel problems or issues of some kind, this one is about as good as it gets. The engine is complete including a muffler and belt pulley. Comes with a rope start as well, the engine fires right up after choke, every time. All you need to run it, is some gas and a 6 or 12v battery, that’s it! This is a 4 cycle engine so you don’t even have to mix oil in the gas. These engines are getting very hard to find, even harder to find in this condition, so if you have been looking for one, don’t pass it up. It’s show ready! There is no nameplate so I don’t know what this one was tagged as. The flywheels are 28 so I assume it was either rated 5 or 6hp. The engine is in excellent shape mechanically, compression is super, and there is very little wear on the moving parts. The negatives are, the carburetor is not correct but works fine, it is off a Stover engine. The detent appears to be welded, but see picture, it almost looks like maybe just the way it was casted? Also the governor weights are homemade, but somebody did a great job making them (governor bracket it correct). Webster magneto and bracket are in great shape, and the magneto is nice and HOT! This engine resembles a Waterloo, but that’s the only similarity, the looks, nothing interchanges, they are totally different from a Waterloo and a lot harder to come by. Head looks good with no welds that I can find. Hopper holds water just fine, no leaks, same with the gas tank. The cart it is sitting on is very well built, whoever put it together took their time and did it right. It comes with a nice channel iron tongue to pull it around (not pictured). The engine has the original belt pulley and correct muffler as well. This engine is ready to take to the shows, needs nothing but some gas and oil! This engine is in excellent original shape, has quite a lot of original paint on it yet. It is in just as good of condition mechanically, compression is excellent, virtually no wear on the moving parts, flywheels run true etc…. There is not one bad thing I can say about this engine other than it’s missing the muffler, and gas tank, in the video I’m just feeding it gas with a squirt can. The pulley on it, is the factory pulley that came with it. Has a nice ball check Lonergan oiler on it that works perfect. It is mounted on a nice thick, hardwood Ash plank that really looks nice under it. Nameplate is original and in good shape. This engine comes with a nice HOT buzz coil! Carburetor is correct and works as it should. Like I said there is nothing bad about this engine, hits nice and strong, and coasts really nice for such a small engine. There are no bad clunks or knocks when it’s running, and no cracks breaks or welds anywhere on this engine that I can find. Has a really old collectible spark plug in it, that goes with the engine. Hopper holds water fine, no leaks. Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself, these Handy Andy engines are quite hard to find, and pricy when you do find one. This engine has been restored, with a quick brush on paint job, I can tell for sure, there is a lot of original paint under the red paint job. It is mounted on a nice set of skids. The engine is all complete including the original muffler and pulley, and correct brass “tea pot” carburetor. The only weld I can find on the engine is on the fuel pump plunger arm, (see picture where weld is circled). Compression is very good, and the engine is one of the easiest starting you could hope to ask for. Both flywheels have the Ideal name cast into them. These early ignitor fired Ideals, are very few and far between. It has the original brass nameplate. Good hitting, long coasting engine, that you definitely don’t see every day! Fuel pump works great, gets the gas right up to the carburetor with no trouble. If your looking for a hard to find engine to add to your collection, here it is, just needs a new home and a show to take it to. Comes with the starting crank you see me using in the video.
