From a long time collection and this 6 HP 1927 John Deere hit n miss stationary engine hasn’t been ran in a long time we believe and it has been stored inside. It is not currently running and it does turn over but the valves aren’t moving so the head will have to come off. We think once you do that and hook a battery to it then it should run again pretty easily. 1927 Serial 275613 so this is a pre-depression brass tag model. Has Belt Pulley too. Good older restoration 1 1/2hp John Deere E (26XXXX) hit and miss engine. It was restored many years ago and has held up pretty well. Everything seems to be in great shape and turns and interacts as it should. It has decent compression and shouldn’t take much to make noise although I haven’t tried it. The gas tank has many solder type repairs on it and there is an extra stud screwed into the side of the water jacket for a push rod return spring but this could easily be disguised. It works just fine as it is and could surely be left along. The magneto looks to be in good shape and the engine has the correct muffler and pulley on it. There is some main bearing thrust that could be taken up but it would run the way it is. All in all a pretty honest old John Deere engine. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, next week, or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. It is the Second of Two Original Brochures that I owned. It was Printed in U. Form number is C-105 — 1927. It is titled The Greatest Advancement Ever Made in Farm Engine Building. This brochure is a single sheet, 4 page brochure. Colors are still bright. When opened up the brochure pictures the 3 H. John Deere Type E. In center it reads This illustrates the 1-1/2 H. Size mounted on truck. The John Deere is made also in 3 and 6 H. Sizes mounted or on skids. It pictures the John Deere Pumping Outfit and Pump Jack. Overall the condition of this brochure is good or better. It has light edge wear and bumping to corners of the the pages. There is some very small tears or separation along folded edge of sheet which you are only able to see when brochure is open an held up to the light. You can see a rough edge at top left of 2nd picture and top right of 3rd picture. Still for a brochure that is over 90 years old this is remarkable.
