Description: Premium oil for use in Maytag gas engines and also an excellent choice for other vintage small two cycle engines. You wont find this oil anywhere else on the market, its our exclusive product. Everyone has long been looking for the BEST oil for using in our Maytag engines. This oil is excellent for Bronze and Babbitt bearings. Its properties for air cooled engines with a good grade fuel stabilizer already added simply can not be found elsewhere. Low smoke and low odor adds to the convenience of this product. The best part of it is the package size. Just add one bottle of oil per gallon of gas. No measuring or guessing. You get the exact mixture the first time. Maytag engines LOVE to run with LOTS of oil and that’s why they use fuel at a 16:1 ratio. This is a Maytag twin cylinder engine, serial number 837… It was made in late 1937, in the first few months of twin cylinder production. It still has much of its original dark green paint and decals from when it was manufactured in the Maytag factory in Newton, IA. It would be a shame to paint this one up. The original washer designation is still legible on the cation decal which states it was used with the model 11X washing machine. Today I took it from the barn and went through it with a basic cleanup. Removed the fuel tank and ignition and cleaned it thoroughly, I reassembled it and lubricated it inside and out, put fuel mix in the tank and started it up and ran it for a few minutes. There are no cracks or breaks I can see. It seemed to run pretty good and I have a video of it running. I was told that this is a Maytag model 72, please correct me if you know it is not. All I know about this engine is that it is apart and it is missing one rod and piston and the other piston is stuck in the sleeve. I don’t know if it had spark or if anything else is missing, you get what you see, sorry for the lack of info, i just don’t know much about these. I had some people asking about the coil and to do some tests. The coil reads 9.2 ohms between the spark plug wires and it sparked well after testing the spark per you tube video. Lots of original paint and part of decal on top of crankcase, it is hard to make out but needs cleaned up. Do not see any repairs. Has kill switch and aluminum tag on carb. Real nice original engine, tons of compression. It doesn’t look like it has been used much. Can deliver to Mt. Pleasant old threshers show in september. This is a previously restored engine and is in running condition. I have come across an opportunity for a famous upright and I have two of these so one gets to go and a new addition to my collection is hopefully days away. I have never run the engine myself but saw it in action every county fair. The muffler is incorrect and the spark plug is a champion # 25 if that is a issue. Price of these engines in general are on the rise. 7 engine pics are just for LOOKS, you will be receiving just the one engine. Engines get NEW rings too, IF needed! Neat muffler, Maytag running on YouTube, neat display! This is a special, restored correctly Maytag, with RECHARGED MAGNETS! In the wheel for optimum spark. A lot of these engines get restored looking real nice, but this important step is overlooked, seeing access to a magnet recharger is just NOT available. What you end up with is a 70 year old weak spark that keeps the engine from running like it should. This one sparks LIKE NEW! So you’ll be lucky to have it as one to own! In my opinion too the SHORT BASES look much better and are more desirable then the longer bases, they just look more balanced, so again a plus! The engine was gone completely through and redone right from an “ole timer” that has a passion for restoring these Maytags. Engine is ready to go to a show or impress your friends or neighbors, what a conversation piece! These were mounted on the bottom of Maytag washing machines in the early to middle of the 19th century and used in rural America where a lot of people just didn’t have electricity. Usually the lady of the house would have the job of kick starting this engine in order to wash the clothes. Each engine is a little different, though basically they are ALL the SAME! “Ole Timer” restores how he finds them and keeps, restores as he gets them, i. Doesn’t add or take away parts from engines! T his engine shown with light dust from setting on the shelf! Tip for cleaning old engines… Engine comes with SERVICE MANUAL! Only 7 left, “ole Timer” says no more after the ones I have! Could be a bit dusty from sitting on the shelf. Will be gone tomorrow, get one while you can! Anywhere to the lower 48 STATES, HI, or AK, will be more. Optimal 2 cycle oil mixture is 16-20 to 1, with 20 being preferred so it will smoke a little :0. Tips for easier starting. Set lever at 11,12 o’clock, choke out intake completely to cause fuel to be sucked into the carb. Every Maytag is unique, and a little learning curve is to be expected when new to these engines, please have some patience. Use a drill with a socket on the pulley side to turnover, instead of the kicker pedal at first, and ALWAYS USE CAUTION!!!!
