It has a diecast body, and the threads in the bottom are nice, no breaks or cracks as well. It has been taken apart, cleaned, armature shafts turned down to make the perfectly round again, the bushing plates have been bored, and bushings made to fit the armature shafts, and pressed into plates. It has been painted, and put back together, magnet charged, new springs, rollers, band, and decal added. It has been tested and is hot and ready to install on your engine project. The mounting bolt pattern on these is 2″ X 2″. We have been in the magneto, igniter and carburetor business for 40 years, and everything we do is guaranteed for 2 years. Here is A Nice 1/2 Hp Maytag Upright Gas Engine, This was in My Personal Collection For quite a few years, I Have decided to thin a few out. This Is an early Engine That Has All The proper Features: Has The Carburetor Mounted to the main Bearing, This does Have the proper early Narrow flange carburetor, But Missing The Choke cap, which are available here on E-Bay…… Has the Original 2 piece governor That looks Like it would run the engine……. Commutator is there But Missing The contact spot Off it. Flywheel is in good Condition, I see no Damage in the usual Areas But does Have one chipped blade Of The Fan, Which is Fairly common… Also I See No serial Number stamped on it…… I Have run across Quite a few With No Serial Numbers For some reason.. This is early enough to Have used the small footed Base, Like The Experimental Carburetor Engines used….. When I first Got This engine I Had One foot On The Base fixed with nickle rod, It Is A good repair But will Not Rust, It Is A difficult Base to find! This Is Over All Good Engine From What I can Tell I Have never Had it Apart, The Main Feels pretty good without any extreme wear, The Rod Does have some play. The Engine Does have pretty good Compression, I Think with some tinkering This Engine would Run, However it would be A good idea to Resize the rod If you were planning On Running this a lot. Cylinder jug Is Good with NO Broken Or Repaired Fins, It Does have A couple Minor chips, Probably From when it was machined. It Also has Unique Brass Muffler That Displays well with it! It’s great Engine If you want an Original Maytag Upright, But would Also Be a good Restoration Candidate…… At least It Is All There, NOT Pieced together, Not Stuck & Not In Need of any Major repairs!!! I will Do My Best To Box & Pack Everything, As I would want to receive it…… Don’t forget to Look At my other items. Or Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Here’s a nice older restoration 5 HP Baker Mfg Monitor horizontal engine. We traded for this engine just the way it is about 20 years ago. We ran it a few times when we got it, and it’s been sitting in the barn ever since. It’s a nice straight engine. I don’t see anything broken or damaged on it. I believe it has the original muffler. The best part is it’s on its original factory transport. It has a nice Michigan oiler & Lunkenheimer mixer. Overall it’s a nice old engine that should make a nice showpiece. This magneto is in great condition, with zero wear in the armature. The pot metal mag body is perfect, with no chips, corrosion or cracks. It has the correct gear and cover on it yet. This mag has a brand new front armature shaft in it from Lightning Magneto. Mounting holes are perfect, no stripped or worn out threads! Threads are much nicer than they look in the picture. The only thing it could maybe use, are some new oil cups with the flip lids, the ones on it serve the purpose but aren’t great. This mag is about as good as it gets short of having one rebuilt. I’ve included many photos to show its nice as found condition. With tons of original paint covered with years of grease. The flywheels turn true, with no wobble.
