Very Nice “as found” WEBSTER TYPE AMM MODEL 303M51 TRI POLAR OSCILLATOR MAGNETO. Physically quite clean and appears to be all there with no broken/cracked parts (see all photos). Has not been tested but should be functional. If not, should take little to make it so based on condition I feel.. LATE NOTE: A crack on the inner magnet band was just located (see last close-up photo). Didn’t notice it originally and not sure how big a deal it is, but since it came to my attention I wanted to make sure ALL was divulged. I do not see any cracks, breaks or welds. The engine is free with some compression felt. It has sat a long time, and will take a little tinkering to get it going. The carburetor is in perfect shape, no issues. Should be ready to bolt on your engine as soon as you get it. Everything moves as it should. Bolt spacing on centers for mounting flange is 2 1/8. Nice Cushman 4hp Binder Engine in good running condition. Has original gas tank. ALSO has the rare magneto option with original Dixie mag. The mag was rebuilt by professional 2 years ago. Needs a little fine tuning to get it running perfect. Never seen it leak and oil looks good. Water pump works fine but leaks out of the drive shaft. Comes on a real nice pull cart. Has an old Champion reaper tool box with oil can spout extension. Has an old milk can for a cooling tank. Needs a good cleaning and maybe some paint touch up. Would make a great show engine. Let me know if have any questions. Will need to be payed for within 2 days after sale ends. Looks to have never been messed with, all the original wires are intact and cloth covering on the coils is all intact as well. I hooked it up to a 6v battery to see if it would spin, and the armature started to turn just a little but wouldn’t keep going. I took the brass cover off and discovered one of the four brushes is completely missing, so I’m sure that’s most, if not all that is wrong with it. Very unworn, looks to be in near perfect shape, no welds or issues. Commutator looks like brand new, NO wear grooves from the brushes, or anything like that. This is one of the nicest Motsingers I’ve seen in a while, lots of original paint and patina, it has NEVER seen the elements. Only thing I see missing is the friction wheel, which are fairly easy to find, or you can make one if you had to. These Motsingers are not very easy to find, especially in this condition, so if you’ve been looking for one don’t pass it up. I’ll let the pictures tell the story, and they really don’t do it justice either. Feel free to ask questions!
